How We Treat Neck And Shoulder Pain

  • First, by listening to your story of how your symptoms first appeared and how your activities are being affected. This is what really matters to you!
  • We then perform a complete assessment of the neck and shoulder to determine the cause of your symptoms and the limitations your have.
  • This allows us to create a well-rounded treatment plan to effectively reduce your symptoms and restore you to pain free activity.
  • Treatment will often involve manual therapy, or in other words, using specialized treatment with our hands, to address muscle, tendon, ligament or joint restrictions.
  • We will teach you correct alignment and positions to reduce stress to the affected area to allow normal mechanics to happen naturally as you move.
  • You will also learn ways to strengthen or stretch your muscles and retrain your nerves to maintain the good alignment as you perform your activities.
  • This may be as simple as picking up a grocery bag or as complex as a specific athletic movement.

See What Our Patients Are Saying...

"I have nothing but good things to say about Evolve physical therapy. Upon arriving they were courteous they were on time the place is extremely clean the people that work there are extremely nice and helpful. They went completely out of their way to help me doing extra things that they weren’t even responsible for having to do but they did them anyway out of kindness and probably pity for me. I would be willing to recommend them to anyone Interested. Call me if you want more of a recommendation."

"I went to Evolve PT a year after a car accident--massage and chiro were managing my pain, but I wasn't getting better. I felt some intimidation going in because I'm not a super active person. Matt W. met me where I was and took the time to learn about my goals. After only a few sessions, I had a lot of tools to get me over the hump and finally get back to life. I didn't think it was possible to be this pain-free, but I am!"

Sarah S.

"This was my first experience with Evolve and Matt Whitaker PT. Matt was very knowledgeable and successful with treating my vertigo and neck pain. He educated me on both problems and gave me exercises and tools to continue improving my condition. It's good to know that Matt is here for me anytime. Brittany was a delight and very helpful with insurance and making appointments. I recommend Evolve to anyone that needs PT treatment. Thanks Matt! "
