If you are searching for answers about dizziness and vertigo, you are probably looking for two things: relief and a clear explanation. At Evolve Physical Therapy, our Portland physical therapy clinic helps patients understand what is causing their symptoms and what can be done to treat them.
In this short video, Matt Whitaker of Evolve Physical Therapy explains one of the most common causes of vertigo: BPPV, or Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo. BPPV happens when small crystals in the inner ear move out of place. When that happens, it can cause sudden spinning, nausea, and disorientation.
This is one of the many conditions treated through vestibular physical therapy. If you are looking for dizziness and vertigo treatment in Portland, this is a common issue that can often be treated quickly and effectively.
The good news is that this is something we commonly treat at our physical therapy clinic near Portland. In many cases, patients start feeling much better after just one or two visits.

“So you’re looking for treatment for your dizziness and vertigo. Let me walk you through why you’re having dizziness.
Matt Whitaker with Evolve Physical Therapy. Here’s your ear. Inside your ear is this structure. Half of it takes care of hearing, the other half is your gyroscope.
When the gyroscope has a problem, we’ve heard of ear crystals. What’s happening is these crystals are falling down in the canal. At that moment in time, you’re dizzy, nauseated, disoriented, you don’t know where you are.
Once they settle in the bottom, you start to feel a little better, but you don’t feel great until they get put back where they belong.
That’s where we come in. We can help you. One to two visits, you’re feeling much, much better.
